On Independence Day, July 4, we celebrate our country and also what God has done in the lives of military couples this year through Operation Heal Our Patriots.
We are grateful this Fourth of July for the many freedoms we enjoy in the United States of America. We praise God for the even greater freedom—true, lasting, eternal—that many military couples have experienced at Samaritan Lodge Alaska this summer through faith in our Lord Jesus Christ.

Dozens of wounded military veterans and their spouses have attended Operation Heal Our Patriots in Alaska so far this year. We praise God for the many more who will join us throughout the summer.
These couples (nearly 170 this year) arrive at our wilderness retreat to strengthen their relationship with one another and with God through chaplain-led, Biblically based marriage enrichment training and once-in-a-lifetime wilderness experiences in Lake Clark National Park and surrounding areas.
“I’ve never met a more genuine, caring group of people,” said Army Sergeant Steven Estes, who gave his life to Christ during Week One of our 2025 season. “There’s miracles working in this place.”
Join us in thanking God for the lives that He has already transformed this summer, and please pray for the couples who will attend Operation Heal Our Patriots over the coming weeks. Pray that their marriages will grow stronger and their lives will be changed by the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.
