A North Carolina man praises God for his new home provided by Samaritan’s Purse.
When Hurricane Helene tore through western North Carolina last September, the raging storm uprooted trees near Norberto Pizarro’s Buncombe County home and flung them onto his house, splitting it in two. We praise God that Norberto and his family were unharmed during the storm, but the damage to their house was so extensive that Norberto and his family could no longer live in it. Soon afterward, he came in contact with Samaritan’s Purse and learned that he would be receiving a new home that would be paid in full.

Norberto Pizarro is back home in Buncombe County. He received a new house from Samaritan’s Purse to replace the home taken from him during Hurricane Helene.
Recently, Norberto was given the keys to his new three-bedroom home. He is one of many residents in the region receiving a new home as we continue our rebuild efforts for years to come across the hurricane-devastated region.
Watch the video above to see how God blessed Norberto and his family.
“Today, literally, is the greatest day of my life,” he said as he saw his new house for the first time. “Getting a new home is one of the most special feelings. It’s a new beginning.”
