In Memory Of
Doris (Fleming) Everson - Bolivar, MO

Doris Kay Everson, 79, of Bolivar, Missouri, peacefully passed in her sleep on June 11, 2024.

Born on March 24, 1945, in Council Bluffs, Iowa, to Donald Grant Fleming and Leatta Blanche (Morse) Fleming, she was the seventh of nine siblings. Doris relocated with her family to Brushy Knob, Missouri, during elementary school and later graduated from Ava High School. She attended College of Ozarks and also studied speech pathology at Central Missouri State. Doris married Eugene Everson on June 26, 1971, at Brushy Knob Church. They were happily married for over 52 years.

Doris’s life was defined by her faith and her family. The summer before her senior year she attended a youth rally in Ava where she committed her life to God. Her relationship with Jesus shaped the rest of her life. Throughout her life, Doris exemplified Micah 6:8, “… to do justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with our God.” Doris and Eugene were actively involved in local churches wherever they lived. Most recently they have led Team Kids and volunteered with Operation Christmas Child. We have lost a faithful woman of God. Her greatest joy would be for others to know and follow Him.

Her legacy is truly her family. Whether it was cheering at a sporting event or reading stories over FaceTime, Doris knew the importance of being present in the lives of her kids and grandkids. She consistently showed her love through acts of kindness, words of encouragement, clipping of coupons, a spirit of generosity, and her gift of hospitality. A verse that was dear to her was 3 John 1:4, “I have no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in the truth.” Her loving presence will be missed greatly by her family and all that knew her.

Doris is survived by her husband, Luther Eugene Everson of Bolivar; her children, Jon Quentin Everson married to Debra Lynn (Emhoff) of Bolivar, Missouri, and Tamara Kay (Everson) married to Jackson Eugene Eubank IV of Durango, Colorado; and her seven grandchildren, Evan, Myla, Anna and Nora Everson and Jack, Kade, and Leah Eubank. She is also survived by siblings, Bessie Smith, June (Larry) Bergeson and Fred (Cindy) Fleming along with many cousins, nephews and nieces. She loved her family very much.

A celebration service will be held at Fruitland Road Church on Friday June 21, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. with the burial at Brushy Knob Cemetery in Ava, Missouri, at 4:00 p.m.
