Joseph A. Tenorio, 71, of Pocono Summit, PA, went to be with His Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Tuesday evening, Jan. 12, 2021, at Lehigh Valley Hospital Muhlenberg. Born in Guantanamo, Cuba, on Feb. 27, 1949, he was the son of the late Juan and Eva (Molero) Tenorio and brother of the late Ana Leone.
Joseph lived and attended school in Brooklyn after moving to the United States. He continued his education in Computer Science at Bronx Community College, later studying Computer Programming. Joe started his career in finance as a runner on the floor of the New York Stock Exchange and quickly advanced, working for various brokerage firms, and ending his 40-year career as a Managing Director for Bear Stearns.
In 1990, Joe and his wife, Kathy, moved to Pennsylvania. After his retirement from Bear Stearns in 2009, he enjoyed spending time with his wife, children, and grandchildren, as well as delving into Scripture and Christian theology. He enjoyed all types of sports, especially baseball (a fan since he was a young boy in Cuba), and everyone knew him as an avid Yankees fan. He cherished the time he spent with his grandchildren, and he was a proud member of the “Doting Grandpa Club.”
Joseph is survived by Katherine, his loving wife of 52 years; two adoring daughters, Lisa Marie Garcia and her husband Norman of Duluth, GA, and Lori Ann Rusu and her husband Dan of Mertztown, PA; his sister Gloria Roman and her husband Tony of St. Cloud, FL; his brother Juan Tenorio and his wife Anita of Clewiston, FL; his many grandchildren: Nicolas Barbir, Gabriela Barbir, Danny Barbir, Mikael Barbir, David Garcia, Benjamin Garcia, Josiah Garcia, Shannyn Blocker, Elizabeth Hess, Steven Garcia, Luke Garcia, Grace Garcia, and Sara Garcia; and great-granddaughter Kylin, in addition to nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
