
Kenneth E. Swatt, 75, of Bloomfield went home to meet his Lord suddenly on Sunday, July 13, 2025. Born in Passaic, he resided in Clifton before moving to Bloomfield over 50 years ago.
A graduate of Pope Pius High School, he received his bachelor's degree from Lehigh University and his master's in business administration from Rutgers University. Ken was a self-employed mortgage banker who owned the Maranatha Funding Corp. in Bloomfield for the past 30 years.
Ken served in the U.S. Army Reserve, was a member of the Alpha Sigma Phi fraternity and loved to swim and play the guitar. He was an Eagle Scout; He also was a member of Calvary Chapel and loved the Lord.
Ken is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, the former Joan Farley; two sons, Ian Swatt of Clifton, and Chris Swatt and wife, Meghan, of Basking Ridge; by three grandchildren, Oliver, Tessa, and Simon Swatt; a brother, Richard Swatt and wife, Joyce, of North Carolina; a sister, Mary Ellen Volz and husband, Tom, of Flanders; and a sister-in-law, Gail Klein and husband, Randy, of Wayne.
Funeral services will begin 10 a.m. Wednesday at Allwood Funeral Home, 660 Allwood Road, Clifton, New Jersey 07012 followed by burial at Laurel Grove Memorial Park, Totowa. Visiting hours at Allwood Funeral Home, Tuesday 2–4 p.m. and 6–8 p.m..
