It’s National Collection Week!

It’s hard to imagine anything more exciting happening in Chicago than the Cubs winning the World Series, but this week of collecting shoebox gifts is a cause for celebration no matter where you live. These gifts not only provide children in need around the world with school supplies, personal hygiene items, and toys, they help share the Good News of the Gospel.

As part of this National Collection Week, we are visiting several Operation Christmas Child packing parties and shoebox drop-off locations in the Chicago area—check back to see how many Chicago landmarks you can identify in the photos we will post below. You never know where there might be a shoebox sighting in The Windy City.

From TODAY to NOVEMBER 21, it’s time to put the finishing touches on your Operation Christmas Child shoebox gifts.

Be sure to go to Follow Your Box to donate at least $9 per box for shoebox shipping and other project costs, and you will receive a tracking label to reprint and attach to each shoebox gift. The labels will enable you to discover the country destinations of your shoebox gifts.

Shoebox drop-off locations are open this week. Find the one closest to you and be sure to drop off your gifts before National Collection Week ends.
