The Samaritan’s Purse affiliate office in Hong Kong again collected shoe boxes for Operation Christmas Child in December. They first launched the project in 2009, collecting 18,633 boxes for children in the Sichuan province of China and Manila in the Philippines. This year, the gift boxes will go to children in mainland China and other Asian countries ravaged by natural disasters or war. The shoe boxes inspected at our field office in Hong Kong are included in the 8.1 million shoe boxes Operation Christmas Child collected in 2010.
These photos were taken last month at a processing center in Hong Kong where thousands of shoe boxes were inspected by local volunteers.
“It is more blessed to give than to receive!” a Samaritan’s Purse volunteer said. “Let us all be blessed through giving and embrace this opportunity to care for suffering children in a tangible manner.”
